The case is one of tbe most extraordinary that hai ever been before an American jury. Early this year "Judge" Movell, b well-known lawyer, commenced, before Mr Micks, tbe State Referee, an ftotfon for dlvoioe on behalf of Mrs Ma* Jfl. Flack, wife of Ja<nea Flack, Stnta Sheriff, and one of tha best known men In New York. Movell, olalming to be instructed by Mra Flack, ohargad Sheriff FJaak with adultery with a Mrs Raymond, and aotaally produced the Bworn testimony of that woman to that effaot, and also of the Sheriff and his con. It was not antll tha last mtnate that Mra Flack hoard of tha proceedings and she at onoe repudiated them. Sha denied , that ehe had ever inßtruoted Movell as alleged., and aoouaed all persona ooncerned of deliberate conspiracy. Finally the matter was plaoed In the handa of DlatriQfc Attorney Fellows, who took each vigorous aotiou that iv a short tima all the persona named were m custody or held oa ball. On Monday the grand jury, having considered the evidence, handed to Judge Gilderaleeve a presentment to the effeot that Flaok, his son, Weeks; Movell, and Mrs Raymond bad been guilty of perjury and cqnßpfrae/ to deceive the courts and; prevent justice. Movell, being an attorney, w.ll, under section of the code of civil proced,ure, ba liable to treble damages, m Addition to the ordinary punishment for misdemeanour. Mr Flaok, Sherifl; oj New York, charged with oonapiring %o ohtain a divoro3 from his wife.ha.3 been released on bail to the amount of 5000 dollars. The other persons implicated have also been admitted to bai 1 .
