The boat was moored to the wharf, and Maokay finding that he oould not bo taken oil, jumped into the wat« with tbo object of swimming to tbe Tainul. One of his friends called the assistance of Constable Moore, who took a b'.-jat and went m chase of Maokay, who getting rathor excited at bis oapture, turned restive, aad gave hi. captor come ttouble ia poceuadlng him to return, He was taken to the Police Station. Maokay Ib a noted athlete, snd one of tba best swimmers In the Colony, so that there was very little dange.7 attaohed to | his esoapade. He is au abstainer and a non-smoker. Tha statement that he attempted to commit suicide is lnootrect. Maoksy has since bean medically examined by Dra Oole and Franca. Roth dootors having pronouucod him to be of unsound mind, he waa committed to the 1 Mouot View Asylum by Mr Robinson, i R.M,
