Onoe m the Morning Glory t I had an odd oonoeit. \ ■._ Sweet William was -„ bridegroom^ The bride a Marguerite, And Violet waa the brideßmaift, She combod the Maiden's Hair With a dainty bit of Oooksoomb, Found m the garden fair; The priest, good Johnny' Jump*up, A fitting Monk's Hood wore," And said the rite m silence, Ab ne'er was said before. « Now, may you Uve-for-ever,' The guests united Baid ; Fair Lily, tall and stately, Just bowed her queenly head.
But Rose went up with blushes, And kissed the winsome bride 1 Here too, was Baohelor Button. With Daißy at his side. When Blue.bells rang for 'oreakfairt. They went m two by two : How Bounoing Betty hurtled, She had so much to do 1 They ate the Butter-anc.-the.eggß, The Honeysuokleß, too, And then, from golden Butteroupß* They sipped the morning dew, They fanned with Prinooß' Feathers,. And all were gay, I ween ; * No room is here for Bleeding hearts,' Quoth Lady-in the green, And some were Lady Slippers, And danood to musio fine, Of Lily bells aiswinging,
AU,in the glad sunshine. So from tho Morning Glory, Till four o'Olook they staid ; Dear flowers of the upland, Sweet blossoms of the glade i "Viohe'BMagfoiae.',
