Melbourne. Ootober 25. The idea of forming a party of members of Parliament to charter a steamer to visit the cities of New Zealand during the Exhibition has been abandoned, owing to a division of opinion on the propriety of invitiog ladies to take part m the excursion.

The third sale of the present series of wool auctions took place to-day. The attendance was large and competition was animated.
