CORN EXCHANGE
The following is the Oorn Exchange report for the week ending Friday 25th : — No material developments have taken plaos m grain during the week, all cereals averaging laat week's values, while transactions have been few. London quotations for wheat bave not as yet affeoted the looal. market, and it iB very doubtful whether any substantial altera* tion for the better will ooour for the re* mainder of the present season. Oatß con* tinue fairly firm at former rates, and holders require considerable persuasion to part at these prioes. Barley is unaltered and demand nominal. A slightly weaker tone is observable m potatoes, cables from Sydney being adverse to shipping at present rates. Beans and Peas have met with some enquiry at current rates, but stocks are nearly exhausted, and not muoh business is likely to take place m theße till the new season's orop is gathered. Grass Seeds fail to gain attention owing to spring sowing boing now almost completed. Dairy Produce is difficult to plaoe at anything like renumerative prioes, and values are un* altered.
