EXTRAORDINARY CYCLONE IN SHROPSHIRE.

Ob Thursday, August 22, North Shropshire was visited by a porfeot oy clone, a phenomenon previously unheard of m _in;*land, Withont any warning tbe oyoloae came on with a great roar wuioli for the timo drowned all ordinary Hoonia as if it were the ru»h of a mighty body of wator, and an intense feeling of toiror was created . Thia deafening sound laßted about five minutes, and m that short space of timo trees wero upiooted and stripped of thtir branohes, Haystacks bo.iJy displaced, housoa part-ally unroofed, and barns und outbuildings demolished. Great branches of trees wore torn off und oirrled away. A part of a large oecob tree was carried 160 yards, crushing* up againßt tho strong walls of Wrexail Hull, a big dog kennel and dog went away m the wind adistanoo of some twenty yards, and orchards, gardeoe, and oornfi -Ids, and the land around the Hall suffered considerably. Tin cyclone took a westerly ieourse, aboutthree at.d balf miles iv length, aad 150 yards m width, expending itself at lilatook Park, four miles from Whit ohoroh. All who witnessed it say it fist appeared like a great white ma 0 of vapour, _arge numbers of p>op!e lrom various parts are v.siting the didiriofc, and a Oanadiaa gentleman who happened to be on a visit to the locality, ana who had witnessed cyclones m Amerioa, deolared tfcut this was of a precisely similar desorlption, though less iv extent and velooity.
