WILLIAMS AND BLAND. Messrs "Williams and Bland report having held their weekly sa'e of horses on Saturday, ( the 19th October. The entry consisted of 29 horses, of which 22 were sold. There was a very goorl a'tendance of farmers and others, and the bidding on the whoh was very much more animated th=>n it has betn f,r some time. Some large contract having been !et for ploughing no duu^t made the demand greater. We sold on account of Mr James McKewen, Oamaru, 6 good sort?, 5 and 7 years old, 1 draught mares, ; ditto c;e dings, £20, jC*5. ;6iS > a g e d ditto, £10 103. "-Derwent pitatoes, 8s 6d togs' per bag ; kidneys, 6s 6d per bag j bran, 4s to 5s rer bag ; chick wheat, 9* per bag ; oats, 2s 4s, 2s 5d and 2s 6d psr busbel ; crushed oats, 2s 4d per bushel ; grass S2ed, 3 s * 4d per bushel; wheat straw chaff. £2 per ton. Furniture and Sundries at fair rates. On Friday we held our fortnightly sale of sheep skins. The following are the prices obtained : For best ciossbreds, 5s to 6s; medium do., 3s 3d to 4s 9d; best merinos, 4s, 4s 9d to $s ; medium do. , 3s to 4s 6d ; pelts, is 2d.
