The wool sales closed very strong, md highest priesc s were obtained, except for faulty merino. Good scoured ivas a penny, and greasy lambs and washed a halfpenny so a o.nny dearer thm the closing price? at the last series, rhe outlook i- promising, ns stocks are small, and there is not a single bale of combing wool at Antwerp. The New Zealand Loa-i and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, received tbe following London cable advice, dated 15 b October : — ■■>•* Wool — The sales closed firmly this day. Washed and greasy clothing merino, scoured and greasy merino lambs have advanced J_id to idj washed and scoured combing merino and fine scoured crossbred, id j greasy and scoured coarse crossbred and greasy crossbred lambs have advanced %d per lb sinca close of last sales. The sales comprised about 223,000 bales. Three thousand bales have been held over for future disposal. One hundred and ten thousand bales have '•■'. been taken for |export.
