Londow, October 9. Wool is irregular, owing to the faet that the selection now being offered is o poorer quality than the earlier lots. There are not likely to be any farther changes until the close of the auctions,
Melbourne, Ooiober 10. ' The first series of the wool sales began to-day. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company's catalogue comprised 4470 bales, of which 4878 were sold. There was a large attendance of buyers from England, Europe, and America, and the competition was animated. The top prices were—Greasy merino Is o£d, greasy merino pieces 10|d, greasy crossbred lid, greasy lambs, ll£d, scoured super merino Is 9d, scoured merino pieces Is 6£d.
