SPEECH BY LORD CARNARNON
London. October 10 The Earl of Carnarvon, speaking at Leeds, said he hoped Mr Balfour would carry out in full his plan for higher education in Ireland. It was impossible to secure the contentment of the Irish unless the priests were satisfied. He advocated ncn ntervention in the affairs cf Europe as far as possible. England's interests were mainly those of her kith and kin in the colonies.
