During a severe thunderstorm at Pekio, the lightning set fire to the Altar of Heiven, the most important religious structure m China, and it was still burning when the mail left.
A strike of 60,000 Junkmen has occurred at Skeymun. Fifteen battalions bave been sent to maintain order. Trade is at a standstill.
