The monlh'y meeting of the Wakanui Boad Board was held on Saturday Present — Messrs Bruoo (Chairman), Brown, Co?, Lill and Strachtu.

The Surveyor's report was read cs follows : — (1) Seaside Road.— Wo find that thu water race crosnrgs on (bis road are very rough, m most p?ac?s being merely a drain cut aeroßS the read. (2) Cottages. — We have inspected the cottages on reserves uader the Board's oontrol* That occupied by F. The oher cottage on the reserve has been unoccupied for some time, bnt we have jaefc let It, There ia no stove m the fireplac •, the partition between the two rooms requites some new board*, five panes of glais are broken, otherwlte the cottage Is Inhabitable < Mr McGinn r« quires the hearth repairing In the cottage near the ichool; there (a no stove. The other one on this reserve, applied for by Mr Talt, we have sot let, bat on Inspecting it find It wants repairs, etc., to the amount of from £2 to £3. We wonld like the authority of the Board before we spend this sum on it. The other three cottages are very good, with the exoepCton of the ridging whloh wants nailing down, and the oblmney of eottega on reserve 1412 wants a little attention.
(3) Water Race Crossings : Owing to the mad silting up and otherwise stopping the water raos croaalnga we have had a man all round the dlstrlot to attend to them.
(4) Tenderi have bean otlled for reforming pstt of Besoh road, and will be laid baforeyon to-day.
6. Maintenance— The maintenance man finished off Wilson's road, after which be bad an attack of bronchitis and was hid op for a week. We put on « man to work the horses during bte Illnasi. He Is all right again now, and has began on Rale's toad. We find tbe harrows thst he uses are not adapted to tbe wotk as the points have got loote, and we would recommend tbe Board to procure a good heavy pair of faon harrows with an extra set of long teeth as the latter would be mnob more effcotlve In polling tbe tussocks out.
