Christchurch, Ootober 2. The attendance ut the market to day was somewhat limited, but there was considerable activity m the olasses for fat btock which were m deoided request. The at jre sections were only poorly filled, and th? demand wuu but slight. Fat Sheep.— The entry was Bnrnll, but tha qaality throughont waß pretty good. Somo pens of very prime wethers realised th'j top price of any oheep sold here for some time. A line cf Hampshire Downs which Mr F. O. Tabart sold on aocount of Mr _lax Friedlander realised up to 22s 6d. These sheep are very prime mutton, and were thi best weih- r. ia market for com. lime. A very prime lot of crossbred Border Leicester^ were scoured for butcher.' use at 18.-, 19s and 21s 6d. Other sheep sold fairly well throughout at prices, live weight, 2 "-d to 3£d ; dead weight, If d to 2^d. Stork Sheep. —There were only two lines of small crossbred ewes, There was a good entry of very fair quality lambs which met with ready sa'e from 7- 9- to 12s 6d. Stohk Oattle, — There were some very nioe lines of young stook, but owners' demands were m excess ot buyers' offers. Only one line of 15 three yoar old eteerß was sold at £3 15i. O her lines, with the exception of odd lots, were passed. Fat Cattlb.— There was a limited entry, but generally Bpeaking tbe quality was ex'ra good. Ono bullock wbioh would do credit to a Christmas display sold at £13. This would be worth 22* 6d per lOOlbs, but tbe generality realised up to 19a 61 per 1001 b. Pias.— A very small entry of pigs principally stores rant with a fair market at slightly advanced rate*.
