London, September 28. At the wool auctions good scoured merinos showed an advance from i_td to xd per lb on the price obtained at the July sales, while medium scoured and greasy merinos were j£d and fine crossbreds from par to J_d above the ptices realised for the same sorts at those sales.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, have received the following London cable message, dated 27th September :— Wool — The sales progress firmly* Greasy merino has advanced J_d per lb, scoured }£d to xd per lb, fine scoured crossbred, %d to xd per lb. aod coarse scoured crossbred nearly xd per lb since close of last sales. Other descriptions are unchanged.

Wheat — The market is slightly firmer. New Zealand, average, is worth 34s per 4961b5.

Tallow—Market dull. Quotations are 6_ per cwt lower than last reported*

Hemp — The trade demand has increased, Medium is worth per ton.

Frozen Meat---The mutton market is quiet, Tbe weather is unfavorable, Wellington and Canterbury mutton is worth 4^d and 5d per lb respectively* Beef, market is unchanged.

The English wheat market is tending upwards, the Continental is advancing and the American is changing, for tha better.

The money market has an upward* tendency. Three months bills 4J_ per cent.

The quantity of wool catalogued to date is 60,60« bales, of which 47,(300 haye been sold.
