Mr Berry, an old and wealthy resident m New South Wales, has bequeathed ;£30,c00 to the Presbyterian Church of the Colony; to found a hospital m the towo of Berry, named after him ; and ;£i 00,000 to St Andrew's University, Edinburgh.
An important medical experiment has been tried at the Albury Hospital. An old man underwent an operation from the effects of which he was gradually sinking. The doctor, as a last resource, tried Browa-Sequard's system of restoring vitality (elixir of life), with it is reported, raarvellousjsuccess. The animal used was a ram. The 1 * patient left his bed within a week.;
