An attempt is being made to form a Federated Union to control the interests of labor and regulate trade strikes. Lord Brassey has been appointed to arbitrate between the lightermen and masters. The former, it will be remembered stood out for 6s a day. _ Burns, the Socialist, who announces his intention of making a lecturing tour m Australia, has been offered a free passage to the colony by the shipowners.
