Messrs EL Matuon and Co. with the National M. and A. Co- Limited) report for the week ending September 21st, 1889:—

Wheat.— The tone of the market Is still anyihiog but healthy, while values continue to droop, and buyers are only offering prices on (he basis of London quotations. Shipments to the Sydney and Melbourne marketa are being made on consigoment, although neither are reaeeurieg, and the motion reported to inor ace the duty to 2s lid per oental m the latter maiket will stop further shipment^, if to take effect at ouco. Values are— Tueoan 3a 5d to 3a 6d, Pearl Ss, Hunter's white, 2a lid, ohick wheat 2a 4d to 2s Bd.

Oats. —The decline m the value of thesa has resulted m holders being more inclined to sell, and consequently they have been offering freely, but only to faoe a dull market, bbipments are being made on a liberal scale, and stocks thculd, therefore, be reduced coneiderably. Short feed a r e selling at 2s 4d to 2j6d, and milling 2a 7d.

Bablby. — A few lines of feed are being taken up at la 9d to 2a, but beyond this there ia nothing doing. Potatokb. — Derweots have been m stronger request during the week, and values have firmed to 70s at country stations, Kidneys are offering freely, but are diffioult to place at 25s to 27s 6i.

Gbass JSeedb. —Orders are limited now tli at the seaioa ia nearly over, Vaiuei— Machine-dressed ryegrass 4a 6d. cockofoot 3d to 3£d.

Dairy Produce —No improvement at 3£d to 3£d for oheeae, and 61 to 7d for buttor.
