The polloo foioe dispatched In parsult of tho abductors of tho Maori girl arrived In the steamer Roue Oaioy at Waiwera at half-past seven o'olook laat night, and engaged tbe setvloes of a guide, who oonduoted them to the Maori souletnent a mile and a half inland. Here tbo polloe entered a whare where they found about thirty natives assembled, lnoludlng the girl who had been oarrled off and her abduotors. The Maoris were holding a " korero " The chlof of tbe settlement, To Hemapu, la a Native Assessor, and as he was Ratlofiad that he ahoutd assist the polloe In tho matter, he was considering ibe question with tho Nativos when the constables entered the whare. After argument he pointed out the Natives najaod m tho warrrant. The four men and a young woman were thereupon arrested, and with the girl and her father were marched to the beach and taken on board the steamer, whlah then oame to Auokland, aarlvlng this morning. The prisoners were brought before Dr Giles at the Polloe Court, and Wore pharged with having assaulted the girl, Mare Balclgurlftl, and forolbly abducted her, and with having ns»au4ted her father.
