A district horse shall mean any horse that has been commonly resident m the district between the rivers Selwyn and Opthi, from July 20th, 1889, and up to the date of the meeting, and owned by a person who has resided m the said district during the sanv? period. 4. Five per cent will be deducted from the gross of all moneys payable m accordance with this programme for the expenses of the course. 5. V HANDICAPS. Handicaps for the first days races will be published on or about October 7th. Handi* caps for the second day's races will be pub* lished at or about 8 o'clock the evening of the' fust ay's racing, ACCEPTANCES AND ENTRIES, Acceptances for the first day's Handicap and Entries for the Maiden PJate and Nove Race must be m the hands of the Secretary not later than 9 p.m. on Saturday, October 12th. 1889.
