MOUNT HUTT ROAD BOARD.
The usual monthly meeting of the Mount Halt Road Board waa held on Wednesday. Present— Messrs McMillan, Jaokoon, Hibba and Johnston, WOBKS. It was resolved to o*ll tenders for next meeting for forming the boundary road from Mltohatn to tho railway crossing near Sherwood about three miles ; »Ibo for forming *bout two and a half miles of roads adjoining Messrs Gordon Holmes 1 , Dalley's and Morlaad'a properties ; to ask the Railway Department to provide shingle on thoae parta of the road between Lyndhurst and Sherwood from wbloh the aoil had been taken to form the railway embankments ; to write again to the County Knginyer re storm water on Oalrn-brae-Lyndhurßt road. STORM WATER. It was decided that Messrs Jaokaon and McMillan Inspeot Marr's Koad with a view to finding if the storm water oan be keot off the road and that if they deemed fit tenders should be called for forming saeh patta of tho roads as was necessary. OOBBERPONDENOK . Letters were read — (1) From Mr W. 0. Walker, M.H.R., re alteration m Koad Bmrds Aot. Reoelved.— (2) From the Ooonty Ooanoll ooverlng refand of expenses Incurred In destruction of small birds and repairs to water races, eto. — Other correspondence of an unimportant natnre was read. TENDER. Mr Black'a tender for keeping cuttings to R»k»la Gorgo bridge m repair for ' twelve months was accepted. BO AD, Mr MoFarlane applied to the Board to have eonvj work done to road to deferred payment aporion occupied by him. L was w.is resolved to apply to tbeCommiaalrner of Grown Lands for money nocrued to the Board for this purpose. ■PAYMENTS, Accounts to tho amount of £45 7a 64 wero passed for payment and the Board •tf j ourned.
