There we a a good attendance last rrght at the praofcice of the Festival orchestra with the view of the produotion of the Messiah at Christmaß, and Mr Fleming hes the assurance of having a strong and eilioiont band. The firat praolioe of the choir will be held on •tfonday evening at Ht Stephen's Sohoolroom and all who take an interest m the festival are invited. The Committee havo been given the support of most of the ladies and gentlemen who have upheld the musioal reputation of Asbburton m the past, and desire any who have not received invitations to Join the orahestra or choir to aooept the invitation given by advertisement m out columns.
