The matinee performance of the B^by Ogden Troupe yesterday aftetnoon drew • very large attendance, especially of the youngsters, a half-holiday granted at the Borough aod Himpstesd sohoola giving them the cb&noe of witnessing l( CTncle Tom an 1 little Eva" by daylight. T/ e leading parts ie the piece of course are Eva, tbe angel obtld, taken by Biby Oader, Uncle Tern, by Mr Ogden, Mr St. Clalr, Mr J. Smith, Ophelia Miss Maitland, Tnpsy Mrs Ogden, Csßsy also taken by Mrs Ogden, Legreo Mr Donbar, and Mrs StOUir, Mies Dawson, Topsy sang her two songs with good effect, " Way down the Swanee Biver," and <( Era's m the cold cold ground," Uncle Tom made np well as the old negro character, and Mrs Ogden bore tbe brunt of her dual characters with great dramatlo effr ot» The death soene of St Olalr, with Eva as a guardian angel, was very effectively given, and the who!e performance was greatly oo joyed by the large audience.
