Mr W. H. Smith, m reply to a question m the House of Commons, said it was scarcely just at the end of the session, and m a thin House, to ask for the second reading of the Western Australia Bill. It would show more respect to the colonies, and be more m accordance with the interests of Western Australia itself, to introduce tfcrly next session the Bill the Government now felt compelled to withdraw*
