, ! WILLIAMS AND BLAND. Messrs Williams and Bland report having j held their weekly sale of horses on Saturday, 24th August. There was a very large entry of horses, namely, 31, out of which we sold 2i at the following prices : — On account Mr P. Mangan, Talmerston South, bay mare, 7 years, £32 10s } 3 year old filly,geldings, 3 to 5 years old, £23, £19 to £18 los. On account Mr J. Shaw, Timaru, bhek gelding, 6 years, ; bay gelding. 4 years, 10s. On account Mr James McEwen, Oamaru, 2 aged geldings and one mare, £11 losand £11 On account Mr Mr P. Martin, Oamaru, medium mares, 3 to 5) ears old, 10s, j£i2 10s ; 3 year old colt, On account other vendors, light draughts, and ; hacks. ,£8 ios, £$ 15s ; horse, buggy and harness, We al o submitted the 3 year old Clydesdale stallion "Lord Roy "on :ccouut Mr John {-haw, Timaru, but he not reaching owner's reserve was passed m, but there is every probability of his being sold privately, during the week* Produce. — Derwent potatoes, 8s per bag kidneys, ios per bag; carets, 3s per bag j bran, 5* 6d per bag j oats, 2s 8d to 2s iod per bushel; chick wheat, 2s 6d to2sgd per bushel; oat straw chaff. £z per ton. Bags extra. Grass seed 2s iod per bushel. Poultry— young roosters is 6d to 2S 6d per pair.
