RULES AND REGULATIONS. 1. The meeting will be held under the Rules of Racing; the Trotting Race under the Rules of the Canterbury Trotting Association. 2. No entry will be received except on the conditions that all claims, disputes, and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by the Stewards or whom they may appoint. The'r decision on all points con* nected with the carrying out of this programme shall be final. 3. A district horse shall mean any horse that has been commonly resident m the district between the rivers Selwyn and Opihi, from July 20th, 1889, and up to the date of the meeting, and owned by a person who has resided m the said district during the sama period. I 4. Five per cent will be deducted from the i gross of all moneys payable m accordance with this programme for the expenses of the course. 5- AH nomination and acceptance fees ta go to the funds of the Club.. NOMINATIONS. Nominations for all Handicaps, including the Trotting Race, accompanied by fee, name, age, description, andperjofmancesothoist, and colors of rider must be m writing and m the hands of the Secretary, Commercial Hote', » Aihburton, not later than 9 p.m. on Saturday. September 28th, 18S9. HANDICAPS. Handicaps for the first day's races and the Trotting Race will be published on or about Oc ober 7th, Handicaps for the second day's races wi 1 be published at or about 8 o'clock m the evening of the first day's racing, ACCEPTANCES AND ENTRIES, Acceptances for the first day's Handicaps and Entries for the Maiden Plate and Novel Race must be m the hands of the Secretary not lattr than 9 p.m. on Monday.
