Aioken Carriok's residence at Ellerslie was destroyed by fire last night. Total insurance £1650. The house belonged to A Saunders, of Melbourne. Mr Oarrick and family were away from home when the fire occurred. Tbe Equitable has a polioy of £750 and the National of £800. The latter is re-insured for £800 m the New Zealand Office, whioh Office also hat £100 on the building.
