THE KHURDS.
It is reported that the Sultan of Turkey has issued secret instructions to Turkish Governors oi the Armenian districts and villages to protect the Khurds from hostility, which their inroads and outrages m Armenia have provoked, The reason of this intervention is alleged to be that the friendship of the Khurds will be of great value to Turkey m the eveot of war with Russia on the Armenian frontier. These instructions are causing great alarm among the Christian population, wbo are suffering severely from the lawlessness of the Khurds.
