THE MAYBRICK CASE.
London, August 23, In Mrs Maybrick's case Mr H. Matthews, Secretary of State, holds that the attempt to poison her husband was clear, but there is reasonable doubt where death was due to arsenic poisoning. Mr Justice Stephen, who heard the case, concurs m this opinion. A large section of the press and the public insist on. a free pardon being granted to Mrs Maybrick. : t>
