THE VIVIANS
There was a very good house at the Oddfel. lows' Hall last night on the oooasion of the production of " East Lynne " by the Vivian i)ram»tio Company. The plot of this particularly laohrymoßß drama ib too well known to be detailed here, and it will be sufficient to say that the various oharaotera were very euooesifully interpreted by the members of the Company. Miss Vivian's impersonation of the dual character of Lady Isabel and Madame Vine was powerful and well sustained throughout, and earned her the frequent plaudits of the large audienoe. Mr Vivian gave an ex* oellent exposition of the part of Sir Franois Levison, whose cool unabashed villainy is the origin of the whole of the tragio element m the pieoe. Misß Christina Tennyson, bb Cornelia Oarlyle, soored a Buooeea m the oharaoter of that oroohetty, but withal warm hearted spinster, and Miss Maude Durand, as Barbara Hare, took her part with orediW The parts of Archibald Oarlyle (Mr Jordan), Lord Mount Severn (Mr Newton), Biohard Hare (Mr Beresford), Mr Dill (Mr Haroourt) and ' Little Willie (Misß Rose Andrews) were all very fftll taken. A laughable oomedietit, m which the characters were taken by Miss Vivian, Mr Vivan and Mr Beresford brought the evening's entertainment to a dose. To-night "Queen'e Evidenoe" will be played. This, though a sensational drama, is of quite distinct type from the dramas played on the last two nights, and should attraot a larger audienoe than either " Lady Audley'B Secret" or " Eaßt Lynne."
