Ohristohueoh, August 14. The weather was dull, but the attend ance was very lar^e and good business was done in most departments . Oatilb. — There was a heavy entry of fat cattle, including aome prime l>ei>f, which sold freely up to 19a per 1001b, These were fed by Mr John Grrigg and Mr W. There was a limited entry of store cat le comprising chiefly email farmer's lots, which did not meet with a teady market. Trans lotions in dairy stock were unimportant. £hebp. — The entry was very heavy, oompiising nearly 8000, but the quality was generally moderate, with comparatively few choice lines, There was a good dem*od for anything approaching superior quality for freezing, the re-openlug of the Belfast worka having had a good effect on this section of the market, nnd at buyara from other parts of the oo'ooy were bidding there was a spirited demand. Where the quality was at all doubtful there was restricted competition, and prices nooaolonaily suffered, but prloa^ were firm foe anythlrg of approved quality. The h'ghest price of the day wm 20a 7<i. Beet qaa-lty freezars fetched fully 2£3. The storo thoep sold did not afford any criterion of values.
