MOUNT HUTT ROAD BOARD
The usual monthly meeting of the Board was held on Thursday, Bth inst. Present : Messrs McMillan, Cameron, Jchnston and Hibbs. It was decided to call for tenders for keeping cuttings m repair to the Rakaia ?orge bridge for twelve months. Cocsideration cf cutting on to Andersen's section was deferred. rt was decided to write to the County Council re storm water crossing on Cairnb-ae-Lynd-thuist Road. The cleric was instructed to eport on the Boundary road from Sherwood o Mitcbam and to write to the Rakaia Board c forming this road also to report on Marr's road. The repairs to fords on Chapman's cieekwere left for the Chairman 1o deal with. Letters were read Frcm Messrs Willing and Liewii re Devery's claim. Received. From the Commissioner of Crown lands. Replied to. From Receiver of lands revenue. Replied to. From the Ashburton County Council re gravel reserves. Received. From Mr J. Holmes, manager, re ploughing the side of road to destroy gorse, It was decided that the p : ece of read referred to was too liable to scour to admit of this being done. It was decided to mite to Mr Walker, M.H.R., re alteration m Road Board Act as to time of balloting for retirement of members. Mr Black's tender for repairs to cuttings at Drayton was accented. Accounts to the amount of £ 50 5s 9d were passed for payment,
