Mr Seymour brought up b report of the Publio Petitions Committee ' on the petition of Wm. Chriatlf, Oamara, against Judge Ward, to tbo efl ct that as tha petltioaor had taken a oivll action for damages against Judge Ward, the Committee did not feel justified m making any feoommendstloD, while tho case waa sub judioe. Mr Seddon movod that the report be referred back to the Oommlttre, and tbon for nearly two hours we had the same discussion on tho snbjact as wo have bad on previous occasions, eaoh fact agalnet the Government belt g accentuated and empb.sUed. Notbiug now was elicited, but thero Is evidently rather an angry feeling m tho Houso with reference to the aotim of Government throughout tbe whole affair, and it is certain moro will be heard of ft before the session fa over. In faot Mr Larnach wanted to move for a select committee to-day, hat tho Premier immediately put on his hobnailed boots, and a.k.d if Mr Larnooh meant this ai •n hostile motion. He then asked that the motion bo postponed till to-morrow, •nd Government would In the meantime consider the matter of the appoiuimont of a committee to enqulro into all tbe faots of the case.
Questions wero then postponed, after one or two bad been asked, nnd tbo House went Into committee on tho Representation Bill.
