WESTERN AUSTRALIA
Mr W. H. Smith stated m the House Of Commons that the Government would not proceed with the Western Australian Enabling Bill beyond the tccond reading ; but, if necessary, they would appoint a Committee of Enquiry early m 1890. Mr Childers asked it Government would appoint a Special Commissioner to proceed lo Perth, and Mr Smith said that the Government would consider the suggestion.
