At tbo ordinary meeting of tbe Loyal _ Asbburton Lodge |<n Friday evening, I _ the Oomi-ltteo appointed to enquire into _ Ibe finanoial position of the Lodge, plaoed ( before the meeting ths following report. "We have the honor to lay before you a « statement of the financial position of your l Lodge, carefully taken from the Registrar of Friendly Societies report, and balaooe sheet of tbe Lodge, Owing to the Ashbutton district, being so reoently formed, , no cffiolal statistics regarding it appear in , ihe resent valuations, but taking tbe , Start fa Canterbury distriot to which: tbe Lodges in this distriot formerly belonged ' we find that tbe Waterton Lodge had a surplus of 2s 7d per member, the remainder of the Lodges showing very small ■ deficiencies.
