ROYAL ALLOWANCES.

In regard to the question which has arisen concerning a grant to Prince Albert Victor of Wales, Mr Gladstone proposes that the Prince of Wales ihouid receive an additional per annum, on condition that no further grants are asked for. The Queen insists on the provision asked ior on behalf of Prince Albert Victor being granted, the question of providing for other members of the family to be left entirely open. The Committee which was appointed by Parliament to enquire into and report upon the matter have not yet come to a decision.
