Thejfollowing la the Ourn Exohang * report for the week ending Friday, July We have nothing fresh to report m the wheat market. London cables note that the market is firm, but it has no effect locally. Sydney is gluttel and e«m hardly b,e txpected to recover until it is known that California has ceased shipping and some ot the stocks held are worked off. There have been but few local sales to note. Oats have a fail enquiry for Victoria at our quotations but holdars are asking higher rates which retards business, orders consequently are being execute i down south at less money. Barley, this market is dull except for cho cc lines which, however, are hard to obtain, inferior kinds are dull. Beans and peas have a fair trade passing *nd are getting inio small compass. Ryegrass appears to have all got into merchants' hands who are now asking high prices for their best samples. Cocksf jot is firm for prime heavy s ed but second quality has not as yet come into notice, Potatoes are being held for higher rates but cables from Sydney say the marktt is well stocked and prices are barely as fim but few line* are offering. There is m alteration m dairy produce. Bu'ter is chiefly being placed m retail lotß. Cheese is exceptionally quiet. Our quotations for the week are : — WHEAT.— Tuscan, 3% 6d to 3s 7d ; pearl, 3s 4d to 3s 6d ; hunters, 33 3d ; broken wheat, 2s 6d to 2s gi. Oats.— Mi ling, 2& iod to 2s lid; short feed, 28 9d to 25 jod ; inferior kinds, 2s 6d to 25 Bd. Barley. — Prime malting. 3s gH. to 3s iod, medium quality, 3s to 3s 3d ; feed, 2s 6d to 2s 9d. .Keans, 3s 3d to 3s 4d. Peas. — Prussian blues, 39 8d to 3s o.d ; ffled, 3s. Grass Seed.— Prime machine dressed, 4s 3d to 4s 6d j second quality, 3s o.d to 4s. cocksfoot, prime heavy lines, 3! to 3#d • second quality and inferior, 2^d to 2#sd, Potaioes, £3 7s 6d to ,£3 ios at country stations, Dairy Produce.— Butter, nominally, 6d to 8d ; cheese, 3#d to 4d. The above prices are those paid to farmers for delivery, f 0.b., sacks extra.
