Good > ojwa springing down to oaive were In good : demand, and prices were fully up to late 1 rates. For other sorts the enquiry was \ not great. Best ppriogaro matte up to £6 12» 6d, and Inferior oavtle from £2 to r £4 10j. i Sheep — The supply of fat sheep was • not Urge, bat tho quality was the best of ' the season. The sale oponed well, and < prices were high throughout, 18s being r frequently reached. First-clasß meriuos • were' p.omlnonb 'among tho entries, 1 and sold well, but: Inferior sheep 1 whether merinos or orosabreds were lower. Best mutton may be quoted at i 2£l per lb, while Inferior failed la some i cases to realise If i. ' Best oroasbred : wethers made from 16s to 18 > 61; Inferior, • from 7e 6d to 13s 9J ; orossbred ewes, 1 from 10s 6d to 16s 6d ; merino* of both 1 aexeo, from 7s 91 to 12i 6d. Very few 1 ntore sheep were penned ; they were of fair quality aad brought fully late rates. I Oroesbrod ewes sold from 5a to 9s Bd, oroasbred wethers to 9j 7J t and a line , of first-cross lambs made 8i 7d. Pias were lerß numerous than at reoent markets, bat the quality was extremely goodf and prices were the tarn higher, Baooners fetched from 45j to 66.', or from 3Jd to 4d per lb ; porkers 25s to 40 j.
