The Hunters' Hurdle Race, a handicap of 15 soys ; second horse to receive 3 soys from the stake. For qualified hunters the property of members of the Ashburton County Hunt Club, Maiden riders allowed 7lbs, Nomination, with ios, by 9 p.m. on Saturday, July 20th, to go to the fund; Weights will be declared on Monday, July 29th. Acceptance $s t by 9 p.m. on Saturday, August 3rd. About two miles; over eight flights of hurdles, about 3 feet § inches high. Hunt Club Cup Steeplechase, a handicap of 30 soys, second horse to receive 3 soya and third horse to receive 2 soys from the stake. Open to all qualified, hunters, the property of members of any recognised Hunt Club. Minimum weight, lost. Maiden riders allowed 7lbs. Nomination with 15s by 9 p.m. on Saturday, July 20th, to go to the funds. Weights will be deolared on Monday, July 29th. Acceptance with 15s by 9 pm. on Saturday, August 3rd. About three miles over such jumps and course as the Stewards shall direct. N .B. The winner of this race to have the option of receiving the prize m a piece of plate or m specie. Entries by telegram must be confirmed by writing at the earliest opportunity* N o nomination or acceptance will be receive on any pretence whatever alter the hour najaned, and unless accompanied by the necessary amount m cash. All horses must be riden m colors* A qualified hunter shall mean any horse that has been fairly hunted at least three times with any recognised pack of hounds during the season 1889, and the Master's certificate of qualification must be produced at the scales. Gentlemen Ridersi — Names must be sent m to the Secretary on or before .August 3rd for the approval of the Committee. Five per cent will be deducted from all winnings towards the expenses of the Course The Committee reserve to themselves th right of refusing any entry, and m the event of bad weather of postponing the meeting fronr day 10 day or for .-'.uy longer period.
