The prluolpai progress has baen In New South Wales, whose fl3oka have Inoreaaed from 35,000,000 to 46,000 009, the gain being 11,000,009. Iv Q loeusland the increase, though not ao large absolutely, has baen fat greater In proportion — vis, from about 7,000 000 to 13 500,000— the gain being 6 500,000, or nearly 100 per cent, The aa ma remarks hold good with regard to Western Australia, where, however, the progress has been on a much smaller scale, the Increase being from 1 200,000 to 2,100,000, or about 71 per oeat ; N*wZaa-. land rising from 13,000,000 to 15,000 000, has giiaei 2,000 000, or 16£ per oeat.
