SILENCING A RUMOR.
Her Majesty the Queen, with thiefl object of silencing the. rumor that strained relations existed between the Royal family, and the Duke of Portland, m consequence of an offer said to have been made by the latter for the hand of Princess Louise, pf Wales took the opportunity at Maryborough house of saluting the Duchess and shaking hands with the Duke.
