MOUNT HUTT ROAD BOARD

The usual monthly meeting of the Board was held on Thursday. Present— Messrs Jackson, Cameron, Hibbs, and MoMillanl On the motion of Mr Cameron, eaoonded by Mr Jaokson, Mr MoMillan was eleoted ohairman for the eosning year. The Clerk's report was read. It was deoided to oall for tenders, to be returned m three' days, for shingling the balanoe of the Lyndhnrßt Road. Consideration of the work required on the railway road was deferred* It was resolved to call for tenders for patting m a new crossing m golly near Thompson's. It was deoided that notioe be published that all rates not paid at once would be sued for. Correspondence was read— (l) From the Rakaia Board re oulvert on boundary road. This had been attended to.— (2) From Mr J. B, Gresson covering title tor land at Barr Hill.— (3) From the Ashburton County Oounail re poisoned wheat. Resolved that the Board use the wheat left from last year before getting any more. — (4) From the same covering report of Storm Water Committee. Received.— (s) From Crown Lands Department Btating amount accrued to the Board from sale of Crown Lands, and asking on what roads the Board would spend the money. Besolved that the required information be forwarded.— -(6) From Mr Prunty re heap of stones on the road by his property. Resolved that the stones be removed as required by the Board, and that at present they should be left bo aB not to interfere with the road or the fenoe. Mr Fagan's tender for shingling the Chert* say Road was accepted. Mr Af Greenbill'a tender for repairs to cuttings at Mount Hutt was aooepted. Aooounts to the amount of £58 15s lidwere passed for payment. The audit of accounts not having been oompleted, the annual meeting of ratepayers was adjourned till such should have been done.
