London, June 17 H.R.H. the Prince of Wales, m addressing a large meeting of nobility and influential gentlemen at Marlborough House, said that there were a quarter of a million lepers m India, aud he added that the disease waagincreasing both m Africa and Australia. At the present time he said that a leper was engaged m the London meat market. The Archbishop of Canterbury and Cardinal Manning, who are members of the Damien Memorial Committee, also addressed the meeting. The proposal for the establishment of a Leper Ward m London and a Leper Hospital at Molokai was approved. THE RACING SCANDAL. Before the Jockey Club to-day Lord Marcus Beresford, who was examined on behalf of Lord Durham, confirmed the statement that Wood was guilty of foul riding. He also characterised the jockey as a scoundrel. Lord Marcus acquitted Sir Geo. Chetwynd of guilty knowledge m connection with Wood's , riding. ... .">';
