THE DURHAM-CHETWYND CASE.
In hts examination before the Jockey Club to-day Cbas. Wood, the jockey/ deposed that he had no interest whatever m Sherrard's stable, but he failed to explain the payment by him of large sums of money to Sherrard. He admitted that Sir Geo. Chetwynd had on some occasions backed horses with him, and also admitted receiving presents for tipping probable winners. He had at various time lent larje sums of money to Sir George Chetwynd, and had not been repaid. He admitted that he was worth ;£i 00,000.
