* ELECTION INVALID. Intimation hss been reoeived that the B<wd of Education has deolared the recent eleotlon of a School Committee for Ashburton distriot to be invalid, on the point raised by Mr SHcook at the e'eotion, challenging tho luling cf the Ohalrman, M-j">r Steward, that parents or guardians of children, thongb residing out of the school distriot, were eligible to vote. It ' is not probable that this deolsloo of the | Board will be accepted as conclusive, j though a fresh eleotlon no doubt will take 1 plaoe forthwith.
