London, May 28. Three hundred police, assisted by military, are evicting -tenants on the Irish estates of the Marquis of Lansdowne, Viceroy of India.
A draft Irish Local Government Bill has been circulated m the House of Commons.
London, May 29. Lord Salisbury, replying to a deputation of Irish Peers, said special legislation would be necessary before a Prince could replaoe the Viceroy. The Earl of Zetland has accepted the Viceroyalty.
Mr Gladstone states that the triumph of Home Rule for Ireland will be a long stride towards a genuinely Imperial Parliament, m which the oolonies shall be represented by men chosen by themselves.
