San Fbanoisoo, May 28i Three American men of-war have been sent to control the entrance to Bearing Straits.
London, May 29. The English Government has given instructions to increase the strength of the squadron m Behriug Straits to protect the British sealers from seizure by American cruisers. The United States has also reinforced its squadron.
Ottawa, May 30. There is great excitement m British Columbia owing to the decision of the English Government to protect the seal fisheries m Northern waters against American aggression. Torpedo boats are being fitted out to protect the harbor of Victoria.
