A HOAX.

Sydney, May 30. A week or two ago the discovery was reported of the petrified remains of a man m a block of marble taken out of a quarry neat Orange. The Government geologist has inspected the supposed remains and pronounces the affair to be a hoax. The "petrified man" is merely a block of marble roughly carved m the shape of the human body.
