. Tke ordinary fortniKhtly meeting of the Borough Counoil was held at the Council's Chambers, Bering bquare West, last evening. Present : Tha Mayor and Councillors Bird, B. Friedlander, Williamaon, tJoott, Keir, H, iJriedlander, Maofarlane, Tuckor. Prior to proceeding with the basiness of the ordinary meeting the annual statutory meeting for the consideration of the balance Bheet and the Auditor's report thereon was held.— Tho Auditor-General oertifiod to the balance-sheet, but drew attention to the faot that £15 disallowed at a previous' audit had not yet been reimbursed. — On the motion of Or Williamson the balance-sheet was adopted, and the Mayor waa authorised ko append his signature.

MAYOR'S STATEAIBICT. The Mayor said that the debit balance at the Bank was £1635. The amounis which had been received slnoe last meeting wore:— Kates, £23 2s6d; rents of reserves, £2 ; licenses, dogs, £16 10s s lioenses, petroleum, £5; earth sold, 4s 6d; coats of summons, 8s; refunds, £1 17s 6d ; Library aocoant, 14s.
