AUCTIONEERS' REPORT
» Messrs Williams and Bland report having held their weekly sale of horses on Saturday, 25th May, 1889. There was a large entry of horses, but the greater portion were a^ed and inferior; all gtfbd sorts sold readily. The great attraction of the day was 5 unbroken draughts from the Taieri, bred by Mrs John Niramo, and sold on her account at very satisfactory prices. We consider they were about the best lot of young horses ever submitted to auction m this district, and our opinion was well borne out by the prices they realised, viz : — A pair of chestnut fillies, 3 years old by "What's Wanted" out of Emperor mares fetched £72 ; a bay colt by Stanley, 3 years old, £26 10s ; a black ooltbV WaitaWee, 4 yeaisold, £26 ios; fay colt, 4 years, by Ben Lomer, 103; a 3 Tear old colt by Kelvin fetched j£i6 10s ; Medium draughts, £1$ to £& Hacks are not m demand unless they are really good sorts up to heavy weights fit for crO3S country.
