I estimate the increase at 10 bushels per acre, and expeot a substantial inorease on portion limed for several years, 1 also limed a stiip m a paddock sown with turnips, with about the same quantity of lime per aore, and the difference is even more marked than m the piece sown with oats* —Yours Faithfully, John Hoed Sprlngburn May Ist, 1889. To E. F. Wright, Esq, cib,— ln reply to yours of tbe 28th I bave used your lime on lea land and land for turnips and the result Is so satisfactory m both oases I will use your lime largely this year. Yeurs Truly, A. M. McFarlanb. To E. F. Weight, Esq , Mount Somers. Dear Sir,— ln reply to your enquiries about lime for top-dresslnp I beg to say 1 used abont 25 owt, tothe aore last spring at Buoolauoh with very great suo cess, and Intend going largely Into It for the future. In my opinion lt Is the best manure one can use on dry land. Yours frlthfully, H. T. Wimtib. BIYERSDALE. Miltos, May 16 :h, 1889, Mr Wright, Dear Sit,— l am In reoelpt of yours of the 11th, re lime, and beg to say that I have need a good deal of It the last few years; and have got very good results from Its nse for both oats and wheat. I cropped tbe land the first year with turnips, and dressed part of It with four tons of small lime to the aore, part with stook-yard manure, and part with 4owt I Maldon Guano per aore. Next cropped with oats and barley, and had 70 bushels of barley and 90 bushels of oats to tbe aore ; It was laid down one year and then pnt lo wheat and gave 40 bushels to the aore, I thoroughly believe we could not get anything like the orops we do If It were not for the lime. This yesr I bought another property, and I Intend to nse 600 tons. I get lt at Mllburn Lime Kilns. This same faim I bought about ten years ago, the party that had It pnt on a few loads of the email lime, and lt shows as destlnotly as possible ; 60 bushels was about the highest I ever got of Oats until I nsed the lime. Yours truly, H. Draw. F. WRIGHT,
